Direct Cremation
Is markedly different from a traditional funeral. It is a non-attended service provided for people who expressed a wish that no formal funeral be held or for those that wish to hold a celebration of life at another time.
What happens? The deceased is brought into our care from the place of death and placed in a simple coffin, visiting the deceased is not permitted. Once full payment has been made, £1407* via direct bank transfer, the arrangements for the cremation can be made, including advice on and completion of all necessary administration, for a date and time of our choosing. We will convey the deceased in a suitable vehicle directly to the crematorium for committal.
Relatives and friends do not attend. The cremated remains can be strewn on the Garden of Remembrance or returned to our office for collection.
All aspects for a direct cremation are carried out in the same dignified manner as with a more traditional funeral.
